The
quiet farming town of Andover,
Ohio is also home to a community
unlike any you've ever seen before.
Here, an extraordinary group of
morbidly obese patients work together
to lose thousands of pounds. This
is their last resort...this is
obesity's rock bottom.
Super
Obese introduces
viewers to Andover Village Retirement
Community, home to more than 50
morbidly obese patients who, because
of their enormous size and weight,
are no longer able to live on
their own. At Andover, the patients
are put on a reasonable diet,
receive physical therapy that
eventually leads to an exercise
schedule, and take advantage of
unique amenities such as extra
large wheelchairs, oversized beds,
enlarged hallways, and reinforced
gurneys. With an average weight
of 500 pounds, this obese community
works together, setting and reaching
weight loss goals.
The
ultimate goal is for each patient
to lose enough weight that they
no longer require assistance and
can return to living on their
own. Super Obese
focuses on three specific patients
who share their personal and heartfelt
stories of weight gain and weight
loss.
