If Rob Hutchison wasn't a Duke alumni, an Iowa native, have incredible grandparents who happen to travel, a Chapel Hill resident, and so impressively stubborn with his career goals that he's willing to plunge himself in the depths of economic despair, he and Advanced Medical Productions may have never found one another.

Rob is an assistant editor at Advanced Medical Productions and Figure 8 Films. He's also in charge of all things relating to our wonderful world of electronics on account of his youth and the malleability of his brain. But don't write him off as a techno-nerd completely (although you'd still be half right). He has a hand in field production as well as occasional bouts as an assistant editor and cameraman.

Born and raised in the heart of the Heartland, Ottumwa, Iowa, Rob grew up dreaming of being a treasure hunter and beach comber. It wasn't until his exposure to video/digital production and cultural anthropology as an undergraduate at Duke University that he would be introduced to the joys and wonder of documentary studies. After graduation, he took his newly found skills as a documentary ethnographer and moved to Ireland to become an archeologist and a graphic designer (some might say he lacks focus, but he'll merely tell you that it's creative vocational multi-tasking)...

Upon realizing that the glamor and adventure of archeology was easily countered by the severe aches of one's back and knees, Rob headed back to the Tarheel State to shake up the world of television production. In addition to IT, editing, and production, Rob is also the webmaster and designer of www.advancedmedical.tv and www.figure8films.tv.
